The V Cast Music service enables you to download songs instantly to your phone, or purchase music through your PC and transfer the files to your phone. If purchased from your phone, you'll receive two copies of the song: a Windows Media Audio Pro Plus format at 64Kbps stereo is sent to your phone, and a Windows Media Audio 9 format at 160Kbps stereo is sent to your account in the V CAST Music online store for downloading to your PC. In addition to the V Cast Music service, this phone is also compatible with Verizon's V CAST Music with Rhapsody, which enables you to access this exclusive digital music service for RealNetworks and for MTV Networks. V CAST Music with Rhapsody delivers unlimited monthly access to music on up to three Rhapsody-compatible mobile phones and players and online on multiple PCs and Web browsers. In addition, customers who purchase music over-the-air are able to download the master copy of the songs or albums to their PCs free of digital rights management (DRM) software that restricts how and where music can be played.

The V Cast Video service enables you to stream or download video clips to your phone from a variety of news, entertainment, sports, and weather channels, including CNN, ABC News, E!, CBS Sports, The Weather Channel, and VH1.

Verizon's Mobile eMail gives you access to your Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and AOL accounts so you can read, write, and reply. Access your address book, receive e-mail alerts and more, right on your Verizon Wireless phone. Verizon's Media Center wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Media Center service.

With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access Verizon's VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps.

With BroadbandAccess Connect (subscription required), you can use your smartphone as a modem for your notebook when you connect the two using a USB cable--or open a Bluetooth connection--enabling you to access the Internet or your company intranet. The tethered modem capability is ideal when you're traveling and need to use your notebook to check email, access corporate networks, or download large files like presentations and reports. And with BroadbandAccess Connect, you won't have to buy an extra PC Card or other devices.

With Visual Voice Mail, you can delete, reply and forward voice mail messages without having to listen to prior messages or voice instructions. Visual Voice Mail is the ideal tool for the busy mobile professional who may need to prioritize which messages he or she listens to first.

The Krave also features a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth stereo music streaming, and MicroSD memory expansion to 8 GB.
Phone Features
The Motorola Krave ZN4 features two layers of touch--on the interactive clear flip outside and the full touch-screen inside--providing you with one-touch access to your favorite features and services without even opening up the see-through flip cover. With the flip open, you can access the full range of menu options. Live TV can be enjoyed with the flip open or closed in stunning landscape mode on the large, vibrant color display.

The durable flip helps protect the touchscreen underneath, and a prominent side key locks access to the external buttons, preventing accidental use when the phone is in your purse or pocket. You can also make voice dial calls without opening the cover, thanks to the phone's voice-activated dialing feature and dedicated voice recognition key--just speak the name or number you want to call. The phone also features a virtual landscape QWERTY keypad, haptic technology for reassuring sensory feedback when you press a key, conveniently-sized buttons, and direct access to personal email accounts with Verizon's Mobile Email.

The 2.8-inch touchscreen has a 65K color depth and a 240 x 400-pixel resolution, and it modifies its display to 240 x 320 pixels when the flip is closed. The phone has an internal 130 MB memory, which can be expanded via optional MicroSD/MicroSDHC memory cards up to 8 GB in size. The phonebook can store up to 1000 contact entries with fields for up to five numbers and two email addresses per entry. It supports caller groups as well as photo/ringer ID.

Handsfree communication is easy thanks to the integrated speakerphone. This phone also provides Bluetooth wireless connectivity (version 2.0), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and file transfer. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.

The dedicated camera key on Motorola Krave provides quick access to a touch-controlled 2.0 megapixel camera. The accelerometer detects the movement when the phone rotates and changes the display, making it easy to catch landscape and portrait shots, as well as capture and view video. The digital audio player is compatible with MP3, WMA and unprotected AAC/AAC+ formats, and it enables you to create and manage playlists right on the phone.

Stay in touch with friends while you're on the go using SMS text messaging. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. The phone also comes stock with a built-in web browser for downloads and mobile web browsing. Motorola's iTap predictive text entry technology makes it easier for entering text while composing email and text messages.

Once you feel it...you will Krave it!

I went from the Samsung Glyde to the Motorola Krave. Hands down, best touch screen phone I have used. I love the fact that the touch screen is not heat sensitive. Makes a big difference believe it or not. I have played with it like it is a toy. It is sleek, modern and easy to use. The only phone I would trade this for is when they come up with the replacement that out does the Krave. Couldn't be more satisfied. Go out and buy or try. You will not be disappointed.

Motorola has hit one out of the park with the Krave Z4N. I debtated buying this phone for more than a month -- so it was not an impulse buy the way phone buying has typically been for me. I read up on this one and was ultimately impressed enough to give it a try, and I am glad I did. The touch screen is not only beautiful, but highly accurate. The only times I have missed touching the right number or letter were when I was getting used to the sidelong orientation of the flip when opened to the left (for texting using the vitual qwerty) -- this is not at all a fatal flaw in the phone's design. You really do adjust to it with practice and it becomes second nature. It doesn't matter if your fingers are huge or tiny, you don't have to touch hard to make things happen. I even suspect that this phone is psychic, as I swear sometimes I only have to think of hitting a letter and it works. :)

Ringtones are no problem. Just edit your own clips (I use Audacity with the LAME mp3 encoder) and save them as mp3s about 20 - 28 seconds long. Use a microSD card to move it from your PC to the phone, then send it to yourself as a picture message. Upon opening the file, touch its icon and you have the option to save it, or SAVE AS RINGTONE. Ta-da. Works with any song, unless copy protected from having been purchased through the iTunes store before they liberated their tracks.

This phone is my "instead of an iPhone" phone. Sure, no WIFI, but you don't need it because Verizon's high speed network saturates the air everywhere I have been anyway.

Really, a beautiful phone with great features.

Very nice phone. Good enough extras.

Most reviews of this phone on the web are neutral to negative, and I don't get it. This phone is solid, never crashed or froze like some have reported. The full size headphone jack is awesome. Looks nice, the case doesn't scratch very easy. Camera takes 1600x1200 pictures. The wall charger is tiny.

Once I read the manual, and got used to where to touch, I don't think I will ever go back to a "normal" phone. The screen is big, bright and attention getting. The speakerphone, call and voice quality are top notch. VZ navigator, visual voice mail and Vcast TV are surprisingly good. In my opinion the horizontal tap keyboard is better than the iphone and the storm. It seems to get less errors.

Things that could be better. No thin aftermarket case, just those stupid belt holsters. No flash or mirror on the camera. Read the manual, some things are impossible to "learn" without reading.
Read the instructions

This phone is NOT for people who do not want to read the guide book. If you read the instructions there really is no problems on how to use the phone. I love it and am glad I bought it.

Pros: Crisp and vivid colors - really cool looking - Sound quality is great - the phone almost knows what you want it to do, you barely have to touch it - pictures are satisfactory for a cell phone.

Cons: you have to read the book - and you have to use a light touch on the screen - if you are heavy handed or not willing to read the guide book this may not be the phone for you.

Great Phone

Reviewer: P. Niederer,
I really like this phone. I got it for Christmas and have not been disappointed at all.

Pros: First of all I upgraded from an old LG flip phone and I was never quite satisfied with it because I was unable to make or receive phone calls from my home in the country due to poor reception, but this problem of poor reception has been completely nullified with the Krave. I have yet to drop a call and I can even access the mobile web with great speed from my home. The Krave also has great battery life. I can listen to hours upon hours of music and I find that I still have 3/4 battery. This is very comforting to know that it won't die on me when I need it most. The touch screen is really responsive on both the front cover and the actual screen itself. Lastly the phone is quite pretty to look at. I find myself admiring it from time to time.

Cons: The biggest con with the phone is that you cannot listen to music and surf the web(or take pictures, etc.) at the same time. That would be so useful if you could multitask. Also, as with any touch phone, the screen is be a fingerprint magnet.
